Our Story

Every cattery has a beginning. Ours didn’t start with a championship Maine Coon or years of planning—it started with a single cat who changed the course of our lives.

In 2016, a rescued kitten named Minya unexpectedly found her way into our family. What we thought would be one rescue quickly became so much more. Through her, we discovered the extraordinary bond that cats share with the people who love them. She taught us patience, compassion, and the quiet joy that only a cat can bring into a home.

Looking back, Minya was our lucky cat—not because she brought us fortune, but because she opened the door to a journey we never expected. She inspired us to learn everything we could about feline health, behavior, and care. That curiosity grew into rescuing and fostering cats in need, advocating for animal welfare, and eventually breeding with purpose.

Before moving to the United States, we operated a small Persian breeding program in the Philippines, where we learned the responsibility that comes with raising healthy, well-socialized kittens and supporting the families who welcomed them into their homes. During that time, we also welcomed our very first Maine Coon into our family. It was then that we began dreaming of one day building a preservation breeding program dedicated to this extraordinary breed.

Life, however, had different plans.

When the opportunity to relocate to the United States came, that dream had to be placed on hold. Our focus shifted to preparing for a new chapter while ensuring our cats would one day be reunited with us. Along the way, more stray cats found their way into our lives. One by one, they became part of our family, reminding us that some of life’s greatest blessings arrive when we least expect them.

When the time finally came to move, our priority was making sure every cat was safe. Our Maine Coon and the rescued cats who had shared our journey came with us to the United States, while the cats who remained in the Philippines were thoughtfully and responsibly placed into loving homes where they could continue to thrive.

In 2025, after finally reuniting with our cats in Southern California, we were able to return to the dream we had carried for years. HausWhiskerfell was born—not simply as a cattery, but as the culmination of years of learning, unexpected detours, and the many cats who shaped our lives along the way.

Today, our breeding program is guided by the same values that began with Minya: compassion, responsibility, and an unwavering commitment to doing things the right way. Every breeding cat is carefully selected for health, temperament, and adherence to the Maine Coon breed standard. Every kitten is raised in our home with patience, enrichment, and individual attention, allowing them the time they need to develop into confident, affectionate companions.

For us, breeding has never been simply about producing beautiful cats. It is our way of giving back to the animals that have given us so much. Through preservation breeding, we hope to honor the trust our cats have placed in us by protecting the future of this remarkable breed while helping more families experience the joy that cats have brought into our own lives.

HausWhiskerfell is still writing its story.

We continue to learn from experienced mentors, participate in cat shows, invest in health testing, and refine our program with every generation. Our goal is not simply to breed beautiful Maine Coons, but to contribute positively to the future of this remarkable breed while building lasting relationships with the families who become part of ours.

We are honored to share that journey with every family who becomes part of the HausWhiskerfell story.
